Chefs Salad Recipe:

This classic Chef's Salad Recipe is one of the quickest and most flexible salads around. Simple and flavorful ingredients that can be changed according to your own tastes and minimal preparation, makes this an extremely easy salad recipe to prepare and enjoy.

See below for menu planner and ingredient exchanges and additions for this great Chefs Salad Recipe. These will give you many quick meal options as well as ideas to create a
new salad when you feel like a change of taste.


4 servings

You will need 7 ingredients:

- Romaine Lettuce (or your favorite salad greens)
- Cooked Ham
- Smoked Turkey
- Mushrooms
- Cherry Tomatoes
- Red Onion
- Bottled Italian Salad Dressing

Ingredients:

romaine lettuce – 8 cups – washed, dried and
torn into bite size pieces
(you may choose any other salad green to suit your taste)

cooked ham – 4 oz cut into cubes

smoked turkey – 4 oz cut into cubes

fresh mushrooms – 1 cup - washed and dried and sliced

cherry tomatoes – 1 cup – each tomato cut in half

red onion – 1/2 cup thinly sliced

all natural Italian store bought salad dressing – 1/2 to 3/4 cup

1. In a bowl, combine all the salad ingredients, except the dressing.

2. Just before serving the Chef's Salad, pour the dressing over the salad and toss to combine completely.

Quick Meals - Menu Planner:

** Serve Chef's Salad on chilled serving plates with toasted French bread slices spread with goat cheese.

** This Classic Chef's Salad can also be served simply, with melon slices on the side.

** Another quick meal idea, is to serve this quick salad scooped into avocado halves with a side of pasta tossed with lemon juice and fresh minced basil.

** You could also serve our easy Chefs Salad over grilled Portobello mushrooms with warm focaccia bread.

*Meat Options: Cooked Chicken or Roast Beef

*Cheese Options: Provolone, Swiss or Blue Cheese

*Garnishes: Sliced Radishes, Scallions, Capers or Anchovies

*Dressing Options: Blue Cheese, Balsamic Vinaigrette or Oil and Vinegar
